One month to go!

The countdown is on - only one month left until this year's Alma Glengravel Ramble! Here are a few tips to help you prepare in advance of June 8:
  1. Ride! Even 8-10 mile rides when you have limited amounts of time can be effective.
  2. Bike check up! If you're not comfortable taking care of it yourself, stop into your local bike shop (or even better, Terry's Cycle here in Alma) for a spring tune up. You may need your cables adjusted or replaced, your chain and cassette replaced, and all of the bolts on your bike torqued to specifications.
  3. Are you prepared if you get a flat tire? It's important to be able to be a bit self sufficient out there in the event of a mechanical breakdown. Bring tire levers, two tubes, and a travel pump or CO2 cartridges. It's worth making sure you know how to use them!
  4. Visibility is key! Do you have a front and rear flashing light for your bike? I strongly recommend all cyclists do whatever they can to make themselves visible on the roads. Pick one up at your local shop, and make sure it's charged before every ride.
So, grab your friends, go for a ride, and join us on June 8!
