About

The Alma Glengravel Ramble was born out of a desire to encourage riders of all abilities to enjoy the countless miles of pristine gravel roads in Gratiot, Isabella, and Montcalm Counties. In 2017 and 2018, JB (CEO, Alma Glengravel LLC) hosted the 100 Mile Creatively Named Ride as an informal way to bring friends to the area for a fun day exploring gravel (and paved) routes in the area. In 2019, JB expanded the footprint of this ride and formalized the Alma Glengravel Ramble in an effort to bring more people into gravel road riding. The Alma Glengravel Ramble was born.

2020 necessitated a shift in format and we welcomed riders to #GlengravelFromHome!

Make no mistake, the Alma Glengravel Ramble is a cycling tour and not a race! Riders can choose from multiple route distances, and there will be ample nutritional support on course to help make sure everyone has a fun day. Go as fast or as slowly as you want - but have fun along the way!

But what's with the name?!
Alma, Michigan, is known as Scotland USA, and is home to the Highland Festival (held annually on Memorial Weekend). The "Glen" in "Glengravel" is a nod to the names of the famous Scotch beverages on the mainland, and "Ramble" signifies the fun and casual nature of this ride.

We hope you can join us!
